Dorian Wood and multi-instrumentalist Thor Harris (Swans) have united to collaborate on the 2023 album You are clearly in perversion (Astral Editions). 

 

You are clearly in perversion is an album of stately intensity that coils, unfurls, and pulses like a thing alive. Three long-durational songs combine to carry the listener through a chaotic dream-state, built upon Wood’s potent vocalizations and doomsday drones, and Harris’ dynamic percussion and arsenal of woodwinds and strings. The album also welcomes a powerhouse roster of collaborators that include vocalist Carla Bozulich (Geraldine Fibbers), vocalist Jarboe (Swans), musical saw player David Coulter (Tom Waits), synth player and violinist Heather Trost (A Hawk and a Hacksaw), violinist Andrea Calderon, violist Elizabeth Warren, saxophonist Patrick Shiroishi, poet Ignacio Carvajal and Wood’s longtime guitarist Michael Corwin.
